ORION Chocopie VS. LOTTE Chocopie

So I had the pleasure of snacking on a classic Asian snack, the Choco pie. The Choco pie originates from Korea and is very popular there. It has been very successful in many Asian countries and I was lucky to find the delicious sweet treat in a Japanese market here in Cali. The two leading brands of Choco pie are Orion and Lotte. Orion is the original Choco pie that was established in Korea, while Lotte Choco pie is a Japanese brand. Both are very delectably delicious, coated with sweet, sweet chocolate.
First, I gobbled down the Orion Choco pie. It had a sweet, delicate flavor that was not too overpowering. The marshmallow center was soft and chewy as well as the soft chocolate-coated cookies. The Orion Choco pie is not too sweet and definitely earns its name as the leading brand of Choco pie.
Next, I tasted the Lotte Choco pie. The chocolate was much thicker and the center was more of a soft cream. I have to say, the Lotte Choco pie had more flavor than the Orion Choco pie. The chocolate was sensational and I liked the creamy center better than the chewy marshmallow. Although, Lotte is only the second leading brand of choco pie, I did find it to have more sweetness to it.
Overall, both brands of Choco pie are definite classics. The Orion has taken the place as the original Choco pie and has gone through years of success with its delicate flavor. The Lotte Choco pie, recreating the original Choco pie, has a boost in flavor with luscious cream. Sooo, the Choco pie is a snack you surely don't want to miss out on trying. Give both brands a try, and have fun comparing and enjoying like I did. :)

Guido Daniele: Hand Art

Today's topic: Amazing hand art! So recently I was just surfing around the web looking at inspiring art, when I came across some unbelievable hand art. The first thought that traced my mind was, I-Is that a hand???. Right then I decided to take a closer look and found myself in a frenzy, looking for other fantastic masterpieces. I was drawing closer and closer so I decided to look in a little more on this mind-boggling art.If you're interested, this site will show you more works from the amazing body art genius, Guido Daniele. Guido Daniele was born in Italy and also currently lives and works in Milan, Italy. He has amazing experience and you will be in awe looking upon all the masterpieces he has achieved. Look him up on a search engine to discover many other surreal pieces by him.
If you want to try painting your own masterpiece on your hand, you will need body paint or body markers of course. Don't try to paint yourself with supplies that are not meant to be used on the skin. An airbrush could also be a helpful tool. You could also just get a hold of regular face paint of course and makeup would be a helpful medium as well. It's a fun task, but it could take you years of effort to achieve such a masterpiece, unless of course, you are purely a natural. And you certainly will need the right supplies.
I hope everyone can enrich themselves more with art and I can spread the word through amazing pieces and artists that truly inspire me.
Happy New Year, everyone, and reveal the artist in you!

Food: Cute Asian Meals(Bentos)

Yup, that's right. Cute Asian foods. Sometimes I wish my mom would pack me lunches like these. I mean look at that adorable doggy rice! Being who I am, of course I oogle over these things. Today's post, I will be rambling about amazingly, adorable, creative food created by us.
Food, of course, is art, which is why food is included in my blog. Anyone can cook, as long as you have "taiyou no te(solar hands)"(Yakitate Japan)! Haha, no, just kidding. Me cracking a lame joke.. So as I was saying, anyone can cook as long as they have the right ingredients, tools, and hands (of course, if you want, you can make food with your feet but that wouldn't be very sanitary, now would it?). As seen above, that adorable meal is simply crafted by rice, macaroni, egg, and bread. The adorable touch, of course, is the faces. So, put a face, some hair, just characterize your food a bit and it could be "adorable". A more complex meal would be the next one(below), but still equally adorable. Those pigs are cute to the extreme! Made with pink rice, broccoli, chicken, and all that other good stuff. You simply only need a little bit of creativity to get started. Poke a few holes, cut out a few shapes, and it looks great! Check out the blog, Bento Anarchy. The link has this adorable Pikachu bento walk-through and a Flowery Bento walk-through. It's so sweet! Ah, someday I'm going to make an adorable Bento when I have my free time. Just looks so much fun! Hope you enjoyed this pointless post! HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE. :)

KDrama of the Day: You're Beautiful

You're Beautiful is the hit Korean drama aired by SBS written by the Hong sisters. I haven't watched a whole ocean of Korean dramas, but I can say that You're Beautiful is probably the best one I've watched so far. It's got the humor, the romance, and the intensity all right. What more could you ask for in a drama? I've seen the cliches such as "Boys Over Flowers" (Korean version of Hana Yori Dango), and such, but YB has really drawn me in. After finishing YB, I was definitely sad to say goodbye to all the heart-felt characters, but I am still in YB fan-girling mode. If you go to Javabeans's website you will get a good synopsis of the whole storyline. At her website you can get the latest news on upcoming Korean dramas and see her other recaps of various dramas. Here, you'll find the recap for Episode 1. She updates every episode and really goes into detail of what happens throughout the whole episode. She rocks! Check it out, and you'll really get a good idea of how You're Beautiful is.
If you want a brief summary, Go Mi Nyu (Gemma), is in training to be a nun at a convent when she meets the manager of the band, "A.N. JELL" who apparently was looking for her. Apparently, Mi Nyu's identical twin brother, Go Mi Nam was to be the new addition to the band, but because a surgery went wrong, he had to stay in America. Mi Nyu must leave the convent and disguise herself as her twin brother until he can return to Korea. And so on... you must watch the drama to find out more!
I also think the casting of You're Beautiful is really well done. I really admire Park Shin hye. She is a girl full of talent and portrays the roll of Minam/Minyu very well. Jang Geun Seok does very well giving off that "I'm so cool, but a total softie" vibe with Hwang Tae kyung. Lee Hong Ki is absolutely adorable playing Jeremy. And YES, Jung Yong Hwa, a relatively new actor, definitely suits the role of Kang Shin Woo. Also, UEE portrays the diva character incredibly well. If you hate her character, then you know that she's doing a good job acting. All of the actors/actresses cast on YB have done an incredible job. They definitely gave me innumerable laughs!

Overall, some people think it's a mix of Boys Over Flowers, Hana Kimi, and Coffee Prince. And I kind of agree. It's genius though! They took the best and most re-known Korean dramas, mixed them together a little, and the result was the amazing "You're Beautiful"! I guarantee, you will fall in love with this drama. If you don't, then it's just you..
Anyways, I think I'll be doing a couple of these Kdrama overviews. I'll be promoting my favorite dramas. :)

Drawing Days

A little bit of my art, if you care to look? These aren't my very best. The first one to the right is a drawing I did of my sister(younger version). She actually has a blog herself. It's called Keep In Vogue . Check it out! She does a really good job with it. Back to the drawing... I personally think it looks kind of similar to her, but yes.. it is a little off! I spent a couple hours of my time to just work intently on something, and I just hope it looks alright.
Next off, the picture of the bird. Sadly, I don't have a scanner so I can't scan these pictures onto here. Anyways, the bird took me a while. I used Prisma Colored Pencils (great colored pencils, by the way.. they have such a smooth layout). Anyways, I did this picture in art class about two years ago. I'm kind of happy with how it turned out. Whenever I look at it, it somehow calms me.
Anyways, these two are the pictures I wanted to share today. They're nothing much. This is only my first blog post, so of course it's terrible. I hope to improve my posts and have more interesting topics.
